Buy from iTunes Buy from Amazon | About "Passion" To me, Passion is one of the most important songs I have written. When I first discovered Brazilian music, a new world was opening up. A music teacher from secondary school (thank you, Jan-Helge!) lent me an old original vinyl disc with João Gilberto and Stan Getz, featuring Astrud Gilberto singing The Girl From Ipanema and Corcovado. This inspired me to explore musical harmonies in a way I'd never done before, even though it took me some five years before I began to write the songs for PASSION. Passion was one of the first songs I wrote for this cd, with it's lyric being typical for this period of "romance" with Brazilian music and harmonies. The "you" in the lyric is actually not a person, but rather a way to address music itself, something that was typical in many of the song lyrics on the PASSION album. Because this music is my passion Why would I care for fame or fashion That's barely half an iron ration How could that ever be enough? "Passion" Words & music by J.C.
